What do you notice?
For ten months of the year, the title slide on the left represented the state of our brains. We were thinking inside the box, clouded by a grey fog of confusion and slightly less buff.
In the eleventh month, the new title slide on the right, shows the effects of ten months of training falling into place. We’ve grown, cleared our minds and opened up to new ideas.
Like watching hair grow, the changes within are difficult to see but that doesn’t mean they don’t exist. They’re there and just like your hair, one day the changes cross some simple threshold of perception and you go, “Wow, I’ve changed.”
The mind is a muscle. If you want to build a muscle, exercise it regularly. Give it good food, clear water and fresh air. It will grow.
Meditation is the exercise of the mind. Meditation trains the mind to stay sharp, focused, alert and agile. The gym is wherever you are; any moment will do – at your desk, in line at the grocery store or seated on your cushion. The gym is available 24/7 for the mind.
A bodybuilder lifts a lot of weight consistently and witnesses a practical result – bigger muscles.
A mindbuilder practices holding their mind in the present and reaps the benefits – less accidents, refined sense of taste, keen intuition, greater productivity, feeling of purpose, less stress, increased feelings of acceptance and gratitude for life in general…
Your mind determines your experience.
The mind is like a slide in a projector. The light shines through the slide and we see that picture in front of us.
Whatever is on the slide of your mind is how you see your life.
2018 is the year of the dog. The energy of the dog is defined by dedication to its master.
The Master mind in the body is the area around the frontal lobe of the brain, the place of executive functions – planning, organization, focus, time management, self control, working memory and self awareness. It is also the home of the pituitary gland, the master gland that oversees the development and activity of all of the hormones in the body. Under the tutelage of the pituitary, the mind is gradually developed through your life until you bare the fruit of your full potential.
The chakra associated with the Master mind is the third eye or 6th chakra. The Sanskrit name for this energy centre is Ajna, meaning COMMMAND. As you open this centre, you achieve a state of mastery, effectively becoming the CEO of your life and commanding your intentions into being.
Join us December 21 for the finale of Train Your Brain 2017; 40 minutes of meditation practice dedicated to connecting with the master within.

As a little warm-up for the December training session, I invite you to listen to the November session here. In November, I summarized the key points from the previous 10 sessions of the year and provided a 15 minute practice that begins around minute 25 on the linked WebEX recording.
Thanks for your attention.
