Spin for Strong Kids & Change a Life

Senior Man Cycling In Spinning Class In GymThe YMCA Spin for Strong Kids is coming to Nexen’s Wellness Centre on Thursday, June 26 from 11:15-2:00 pm. This is your chance to raise funds and workout at the same time!

In 2013, the Strong Kids Campaign raised $1.5 million that enabled
25 000 Calgary kids to learn and play in a supportive and caring environment. The Strong Kids Spin is your opportunity to make a difference in a child’s life. We invite you to make a minimum $25 donation to spin in one of three themed spin classes lead by special guest instructors.

YMCA Calgary never turns a child away due to financial difficulties. 1 in 4 kids in YMCA programs are supported by Strong Kids Funds. Program opportunities not only include important YMCA recreation and life skill programs like swimming but also After School Care, Residential Camp, Day Camp, Leadership Programs, new immigrant classes and a variety of aboriginal programs and services. To learn more, view the YMCA Strong Kids Slideshow.

To support children and youth in your community:

  1. Sign up by completing a YMCA Strong Kids Pledge Card at the Wellness Centre or call to inquire about our online option.
  2. Reserve your bike by dropping off your pledge card or online donation confirmation at the Wellness Desk. (Please note your space is not guaranteed until we receive the online confirmation or pledge card)
  3. Enjoy your unique spinning experience on Thursday, June 26 in the Wellness Centre.
  4. Submit your YMCA charitable tax receipt for matching using Grantstream. For those who donate via pledge cards, receipts will be mailed by YMCA Calgary in the days following the event.
